A friend asked if we could build a heavy duty work bench at his plant. He wasn't kidding! I worked in our shop for a period of about 2 weeks getting everything milled and glued, before we all went in on thursday to start to lay it out and build it. We still have to fabricate the stainless steel tops to cover it and install the rest of the doors and hardware.
Unless you have done something like this before, you have no idea how many parts and pieces go into it. I had about 200 gallons of shavings from the set up and milling alone, plus I used over a gallon of glue to lay it up. A fun project when it all comes together.
Oh you funny guy!!! Ha Ha. Who said that? Jacky Chan?
You forgot the counterflashing Z bar.
Hey, we finished it up today. It took two us us two more days to finish. Take a look.
I love to do this type of thing and it is part of our work. It can't get any better than that! I hardly do any more shingle work because there is no money in it. Specialty things are a better fit for us and the guys like it better too.
We have about 1 more day over there to finish it up and I will pick a rain day to do that. It helps to fill the weeks and that is great. The owner is very happy with it too and that is a plus. We will do a lot more things for him over the years just like we have for the last 10 or 15. A good customer to have for sure.
Os, where do you find the time for all of this? Life is fun, huh?
That sounds like a roofer "It's out of square, not my fault"
But for real, nice work! It sounds like the top is going to last more than a lifetime.
