Although we've never used the tactic, we've always had competitors after our people. I'm wondering, with the ever shrinking qualified labor pool, this may become the norm.....I know as an industry, a lot of us have constantly noted the lack of good help...However, now it's getting really scary!.....Thoughts?

It's really bad up around Stuart. Several of the large contractors snub their nose at legal employment. They could give A shaved rats ass. It's all the roofers, landscapers, painters, anyone that can get them they get them.

REALLY scary for roofing contractors in Miami, FL. So many illegals and the ones I talk to all want CASH. A lot of companies pay cash & run a lot of customer checks through check cashing stores & a token amount thru account. They're rolling the dice but it's a good gamble now since the states can't afford to enforce their own laws. Really tough if U R trying to stay legit. Was talking to a 20 year guy who was fed up with his situ & I offered nice hike but he wanted 40 hours guaranteed. Can't do that year round. Until the states enforce the comp laws it won't change...
