Happy Independence Day!

Initially I thought this thread should remain neutral, politically. But then I thought, Independence Day is entirely a political event, promulgated by patriots longing to be free from tyrannical government.

And each year we give up more of our independence - we surrender it away as though forgetting all the blood that was shed to earn it and defend it. Under the guise of security or the levelling of the playing field, we invite more laws, ordinances, mandatory licensing, mandatory permits fees and regulations.

And we pretend to ourselves that it's something different - something for the overall good for society, to protect the weak, to defend the ignorant. We pretend. Who're we fooling?

Are we the weakest generation since the original Independence Day!

On July 4th, the citizens celebrate a day off from work. On July 5th the Dem/ Rep Party will be empowering the bueaucracy to further destroy America.
