Buddy Guy must've been a youngster back then woody
If I remember right, the band I saw him in was pretty rough at the start of every song, but really tightened up by the end. They didn't put much effort into naming themselves, either. It was something like Super Black Blues Band.
I used to go to the shows of every old blues guy that came to town and Portland is a blues town. I bet I've seen a dozen different guys claiming to be the "master of the stratocaster".
I did not ever see him. Never really appreciated him til now. Riddle me that Batman.
I did however share taking a leak w/ Pinetop Perkins one time. Not too exciting. He was well over 90 at the time. He said "I played w/ Muddy Waters".
That's all I got B)
I thank Muddy for my signature line "Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day " B) :) :) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day
I saw him in the late '70's and thought he was old then. It was a blues supergroup with Muddy Waters, T-bone Walker, Otis Spann and Buddy Guy.
