Blue tarping roofs after hurricanes is just one big goverment bail out of the insurance industry!Every policy states secure your property and we will reimburse you the cost"s of tarping. The insurance industry is making huge profits and whines like little kids when they have loss's even 2006 hurricane katrinas damages insurance companys experienced huge profits and this is well documented.

#2 Defintely NOT You are lost on that one Chuck. Way out in Left field and beyond. If you deny this you are not even qualified to speak further on the topic, and dis honest. In fact, it is opposite of what you are trying to promote in the 1st Place!!

#3: maybe, but doesn't the government re-imburse you with Federal Disaster funds? PLUS your policy of passing the costs onto consumers willy nilly goes right past any regulators, even has their blessing. Conspiracy or observation?

I can answer the first one. No, the insurance company is not. The agents before renewing H/O policy look at how old the roof is and makes a determination if it needs inspection. The inspections are preformed by State Licensed Roofing Contractors, licensed architect, engineers or contractors. If it is detriment the roof will not last another 5 yrs the H/O is informed the roof must be replaced or no H/O insurance. The others are opinion and conspiracy theory which knows how to ask provocative questions and no proof. B) :) :) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day

3 questions Chuck: #1 Is the insurance company paying for the upgrades, or the building owner? And #2....the question I keep asking..........and which keeps blowing my mind......over and over..... again and again:

Why does the Insurance industry insure defective products?

#3) Are the taxpayer bailouts enough to keep this industry humming no matter how sloppy they operate?

Wow....so transparent. Just fill out the paperwork.....

Just sign here!

Marketing: It's a wonderful thing!

That's funny stuff CIAK. Really 8 out of 10 here don't know. don't care, don't give a flip and would not know where to start with any kind of "code", let alone min. warranty requirements.

Making them check a box on a form while cashing the check would surely fix all of that tho :side:

What's happening here is the home owner pays the legit licensed roofing contractor to remove the defective roof, replace it with a certified coded roof for the area. The Lic contractor fills out the insurance roof survey. The home owner gives it to the agent, insurance is provided to the home owner. Simple, provides a needed boost to the roofing industry and gives back to the community new coded roofing applications + beautifiesl the neighborhoods. Win , win B) :) :) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day

Ain't nobody here doing any upgrading for insurance peanuts

Not sure if any of these "roofers", I mean Shoe Salesmen, would even know where to start with any upgrades anyway.. :P

replacing one crappy roof w/ another crap roof would only be an upgrade in the ever pleasant world of Marketing

Robert Said: Now Chuck is that some kind of bullshit?Whos the major insurer in Florida for wind and hail?Would it be citzens? And how did that come to happen? Please this is a roofing site not a insurance praising site,i have plenty of experience dealing with insurance claims and know the only thing the insurance industry is interested in is thier pocket book!

And your point ? Isn't profit the idea? To make money and spur a slow roofing economy, and upgrade the structures for safety. Enriching the communities and businesses. Sounds like a good deal too me.

The insurance company's here Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day have contributed to the roofing industry becoming a professional industry concerned about safety and proper roofing procedures. After Andrew the codes changed dramatically for the better here driven by pressure from the insurance industry. Today insurance continues to drive roofing economy here. Sending inspectors to the insured home and business and accessing conditions and denying coverage if not up to standards. More roofs are being changed here because of those inspections. They are proactive and are not waiting for the big storm and all that entails. Bravo to the insurance company's for their fore thought.
