Hail Appointments - Don't Use This Company!

In my opinion this is a deceptive company. They told me they would get us appointments with people needing a roof bid. I even gave them a zip code that I knew to be heavily industrial and had recent hail. They told me they could limit my appointments to only buildings 20,000 sq. ft. and up and the appointments were to be to provide a quote..

Every single one of their "appointments" was a complete waste of my time. The first was on a 32 SQR metal roof that needed no work - the owner met me, said he needed no work, and said the Hail Appointment rep said I just wanted to drop by and leave him my card. Uh, I'm not paying $350 each to get appointments to drop off my card!!!

Next appointment, same thing, they had no clue why I was there - said the rep talked them into letting me come by "for a visit."

Third appointment was some nonprofit organization that doesn't have the money for a roof.

I have called Hail Appointments 4 times and left e-mails and they won't respond. They have charged my Amex card $1,050, which I will reverse Monday morning.

Update, Amex has reversed the $1050 in charges while it is investigated.

I am getting too old and senile to suffers fools gladly.

This didn't happen in a vacuum.

I have been communicating with a very successful Kold King in California who thinks outside the box and has been getting outstanding results by using an appointment setter and a certain internet site which I won'y say because a guy I despise and who competes with me is reading this. :-)

He knows his appointment setter and that helps. I decided to give it a whirl hoping I could control the parameters. I was mistaken.

Still, guys, once in awhile you hafta take a chance.

The silence is screaming at you! Back in the day I had a good experience with a lead service .approximately 3-4 months. Mostly residential work. It went south when 2 or 4 others from same service started showing up on the leads. B) :) :) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day

OLE Willie

I just got the second email this morning from the same company exclaiming "We ran a test on your company to see the results you could have "IF" you were ranked #1 on the google search engines for your area and the results were amazing". We can have you at the top in no time! Etc. Etc.

I do my own SEO and I've been ranked in the top position for all of 2013!

Friggin Idiots! ;)

I have never used a lead service. After hearing from so many posters over the years what a rip they have a;; proven to be I know that I never will. No surprise that this company is no different. Did you really believe otherwise?

Has anybody ever had good results with a lead service?

So the spider said to the fly, allow me into your parlour, you are in great danger, and only I can save you. The fly opened the door. " Who is John Galt????" Snake oil is an old old ploy. B) :) :) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day

And why should we be surprised?

It seems that the modern economy is based on appearances over substance in virtually every field. "Green" products that are green in marketing only, "Natural" products that abuse the idea of what "natural" is, "VIP" celebrities that are self-promotion engines, "professional" services that are professional in how they relieve "clients" from their money...

When was the last time hard work, integrity, honesty, and craftsmanship were actually respected as basic approaches to living, as opposed to what the dulls do when they can't figure out how to game the system?

In the end, I blame the homeowners and property owners who don't want to do the homework to make informed buying decisions. They want simple, easy answers, and they want to believe the lies that they get peddled, because that is much easier to "understand" then the actual complexity of how things work.

We can even make the analogy between the purveyors of "sound right, feels good" products and services to being like the drug suppliers - if there weren't ready customers for that junk, then there wouldn't be an army of willing suppliers. And we all know how THAT particular war is going.

The layers keep getting piled on thicker and thicker. Marketing babes. Building inspectors Permits Licensing Did I mention Marketing Babes? Sales reps that are clueless in both roofing and sales

Engineers now to do the most basic tasks as craftsmen cannot be trusted......or found. Or no one in "Authority" would recognize one.....

Yet....we are supposed to educate the consumer when the least educated of all are running this circus :side:

I cut my teeth cold calling. For years I knocked 40 business doors every day 5 days a week. Got 2 permissions to bid each day, sold 1, on average. Like postcards, cold calling doesn't work like it used to.

It is especially inefficient for a 1-legged guy.

There'a no free lunch.

I've NEVER had success with ANY of those types of lead generation services.

If the caller I.D. says "out of area", "toll free number", "unknown number", is from an out of state area code or anything similar the phone does NOT get answered.

Same thing with emails. If I don't recognize the sender, then the only thing I click on is the "D e l e t e" tab.

Since roofing has become another e-z money scam the pretty women are popping up all over product. I always liked Miss Makita! She is good enough looking to be on Good Morning America.

The pretty boys of course are knocking on doors with the pretty girls and with the flip of a switch, hundreds of laborers come in to r&r the shingles, take the money and run

It will always take take a roofer to do the job right, but...........why work when you can market?

The American Consumer has never been none too particular as long someone is there to wipe her a$$ and wipe away his tears.

Don't take much really
