Had a Gun Pulled on Me Today!

This morning I was on 158 coming from San Angelo into Midland and as I came to road construction near Garden City, a Ford Econoline van pulling a jackhammer type compressor was driving about 15 mph half on the shoulder, so I passed them.

That evidently pissed them off, royally. They got right on my bumper, so I figured my 405 hp Powerstroke can fix that - and it did for awhile but those guys drove that ol' van, pulling a trailer, 90 miles an hour trying to catch me. They passed cars and oil trucks on the shoulder, half in the ditch, it was nuts!

My pickup limits itself out at 95 and they were right on my butt with that old van! Then, the driver sticks a handgun out the drivers window to show me. Shit! Looked like a Beretta or CZ but about then I decided it didn't really matter what kind it was.

We got hung up behind tanker trucks and I was able to out-accelerate them and put a few trucks between us - they then passed those truck on the right, half in the ditch, and caught back up to me. This time he pointed the gun at me.

About then I'm wishing Jason Pike was riding shotgun. I kept my G26 in its holster as I knew that would really complicate things and wasn't the time for that any way. But trust me, it was on my mind because I kept getting caught in very slow traffic.

I called 911 and told them what was happening, 4 times! They kept passing me off to Midland, then to Odessa, then to SO, then to DPS. I finally told them: Hey, I called 911, I don't know whose jurisdiction it is but y'all better get someone out here pretty darn fast or there is going to be a shootout.

I finally lost them and called Price Construction to tell the owner what his employee or sub-contractor did - he hasn'tt called me back yet.

Crazy day!

Can't you get the police to go pay them a visit? They are not calling you back because it was probably the owner driving the van. What a scary story. It could have had such a bad ending.

Of course if you live in Florida they could have gotten off if they shot you.

Chuck the news overseas is different from what we receive here. Im not sure what we get can actually be called news

Nope, no contact from them. I just sent them a fax asking if their workers pulling guns on motorists is so commonplace that they don't feel a need to follow up.

Sounds like the guy I run into around here every day. It's really weird how he drives a different type vehicle every time.

A while back two females got into a road rage incident on the interstate and when they exited and came to a stop due to traffic at a red light one of them got out of her car and approached the driver side window of the other one. They argued back and forth until the lady that had gotten out spit on the other lady. The one that was spat on then pulled a pistol from her purse and shot the other one in the face. She died on the scene. Unreal.

Mike, you've been watching too many conspiracy flics!

Wow, glad your okay. So now your going to have to work on that pesky truck governor! My 97 Grand Prix shut off at 126. I was rolling through your great, yet boring but better than OK, state in 2004 @ about 110mph when two state troopers FLEW past me! Then I got that pesky governor removed, proved it, and haven't went that fast since.

IL just got the right of concealed carry, but I'm not too motivated to go through the classes yet. I don't want to feel obligated to carry something else around all the time!

That's some crazy stuff. I don't know what gets into some people, but lately, it seems like more and more are carrying some kind of rage in their head(s).

Wife and I were talking about how there are three wiiners at the Olympics, but schools and other places give trophies for showing up. I think they get used to that, then enter the real world and are disappointed. I didn't want our kids getting trophies for showing up when they did, we told them the world didn't work like that and it was a crock. I think it helped. :)
