One question comes to mind about the roof flashing. I'm curious about the flashing detail at the apron flashing that butts up to the dormer. When I framed, I always left a minimum of 4" below the window. That's not possible on this house. Is caulk the only solution?
---180k Wow!!! For that price I would have expected it to be over 100 sq & 12/12. ---Many compliments on what looks great. I don't do any of that kind of work but it is impressive. Lanny
I'm impressed! There's a lot of components that I've never had any experience with.
I'm also a bit shocked with the pricetag. I think I want to start selling tile and copper roofs!
I do have extensive experience framing, so I have a few questions. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what the framing parts are called, by roofers. I'll make my best guess.
I'm curious about the 1/3 furring strips. I'm assuming that these are located directly over the rafters. Are they?
Do you bed the furr strips in sealant? Is there any danger of water getting trapped under the furr strips and causing mold or rotting them out?
Picture 5 shows a built up rake assembly? Was there some reason why a solid member, such as a 2x8 (or a ripped down 2x10) wasn't used? Was that a change in design or scope?
Thats enough questions for one day.
That roof was a round 180000 $ material & labor

---How much did that cost? Lanny
