Has anyone done any work this year that would qualify for the $1500 tax credit? I have had a few people calling lately asking about it. As far as I know it is only a select type of expensive shingles that qualify.

About half of my residential customers qualify for the tax credit. Metal and shingle roofs that are energy star cool colors usually qualify. 30% of the material costs up to $5000 ($1500). Must also be their primary residence (second homes and rental properties don't count).
