Vickie, have you ever been to Detroit? It is not pretty! There are some very rich suburbs around it as all of the whites moved out in the late 60's after the riots when most of it burned. The population is about 1/3 of what it was at it's peak in the early 50's and most of those houses that held the 2/3 that left are falling down or have been totally abandoned. City halls, libraries, churches and schools, and whole neighborhoods are weed covered and overgrown. All of the windows are broken and all of the valuable copper and anything that can be sold is stripped out and long gone.

When you asked that question, it is important to preface it by where in Detroit you are talking about. The metro area includes about 3 counties. Let me know.
