Years ago, when I had a SLR film camera, I made several attempts at taking lightning pictures. I found it very difficult. You had to start taking the picture at your first inkling of a flash or you would miss it. I paid for lots of film developing of black pictures just to get a few mediocre lightning pictures. I think you would almost have to shoot a video and then crop the stills to get a picture like that.

That photo is breathtaking! I live on a hill overlooking the Mon Valley in Pittsburgh. I have a 180 degree panoramic view of the valley and have spent countless hours on the porch watching thunderstorms roll through. My family thinks I am nuts!!!

That is beautiful....worth framing. PC Did you take that? I have them on my fridge. I took a picture of the last sunset of the last millenium and the first sunset of the new millenium, I see them everyday. 10 years now. PC
