Since I dont believe Obama is a Marxist, I merely dislike him and find him ineffectual.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs. I dunno Egg, that sounds like Obama. Also: Marx·ism   /ˈmɑrksɪzəm/ Show Spelled[mahrk-siz-uhm] Show IPA noun the system of economic and political thought developed by Karl Marx, along with Friedrich Engels, especially the doctrine that the state throughout history has been a device for the exploitation of the masses by a dominant class, that class struggle has been the main agency of historical change, and that the capitalist system, containing from the first the seeds of its own decay, will inevitably, after the period of the dictatorship of the proletariat, be superseded by a socialist order and a classless society.

I consider him little more than a cork, bobbing on the surface of a wave, not the force driving any wave. This game is way too big and out of control for him to be more than a focal point for the hope or derision of the masses. Romney? These two characters are like Kryptonite and my voting hand is made of lead but dont worry, Ill vote somehow, even though the core problems will lurk out of the reach of this ballot. We have basically abandoned space exploration. Think about that. I know people on the dole screaming too much taxes. As Twill points out, there are people not on the dole robbing us blind. Maybe you can discern a difference, but mud is mud to me.

I don't get too worked up about hapless crooks and ineffective dolts who run our government. Oh, they are bad, and prevalent, but I'm much more concerned with those actively attempting to change our system of government to a more socialist society...Obama. His entire past and associations says this is his agenda.

Once I managed to get over the notion that it can't happen here, the dots began connecting themselves.

I had to drive seventy miles to an interstate highway in Kentucky and then settle for a chain restaurant to get some bacon and eggs since I wasnt willing to settle for a McMuffin. Im not kidding you. We used to be real.

The McDonalds arches is part of my Powerpoint presentation on how the customers' mind works. He will settle for no surprises rather than a chance at something better. It's the human condition.

In Case You Don't Like Mitt Romney... Columnist Andrew McCarthy gives us what probably is the most important question regarding the upcoming presidential election…

“If Mitt wins the nomination, as seems very likely, I will enthusiastically support his candidacy. For my friends who may have hesitation on that score, I’d just ask you to keep four things in mind:

1. Justice Scalia just turned 78 2. Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year 3. Justice Breyer will be 76 in August 4. Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago.

Whoever we elect as president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one and maybe more new members of the Supreme Court — in addition to hundreds of other life-tenured federal judges, all of whom will be making momentous decisions about our lives for decades to come.

If you don’t think it matters whether the guy making those calls is Mitt Romney or Barack Obama, I think you’re smokin’ something 'funky.'" So for anybody who is thinking of not voting because your favorite didn’t get nominated, or writing in a candidate who can't win..., just imagine this possibility: 'SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ERIC HOLDER' Did that get your attention? I sure hope so...

Thomas Jefferson

"...rather be exposed to the inconvenience attending too much Liberty than..."

"but rightful liberty is within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others..."

That can get sticky.

I can't dumb it down. You and I probably agree on a lot, on the deep level at least, and probably disagree on some surface issues. I'm really not sure. One can always make the point that surface issues are directly rooted in deep issues and therefore disagreement equals disagreement equals disagreement, period. I don't actually buy that. I put weight-loads on disagreements so one is not equal to another. Where we can agree, I think, which is why I felt it worthwhile to enter in, is that the "attending" part is worthwhile. More than worthwhile, actually. That's the whole game.

We're aiming at different targets probably. Since I don't believe Obama is a Marxist, I merely dislike him and find him ineffectual. I consider him little more than a cork, bobbing on the surface of a wave, not the force driving any wave. This game is way too big and out of control for him to be more than a focal point for the hope or derision of the masses. Romney? The unique thing about your posts, Egg, is that most of the time I have no clue whether you are agreeing with me or disagreeing. Perhaps you could dumb it down about 3 grade levels. :)

I forget who said it or his exact words - and I am on my iPad where it is difficult to research - but some important dude said something like this: I would rather attend to the complications of too many freedoms, than to attend to the complications of too few.

I assume if it gets out of hand someone will fire up the kettle again for this type of discussion.

"...Brave men fought & died in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan..."

This is true, but my Grandfather fought under Pershing before that, my great, great Grandfathers fought in the Civil War. Even before them were the ancestors that came through the Cumberland Gap after fighting in the war for independence. One of those died along with Israel Boone in the Battle of Blue Licks because nothing ever gets settled, not once-and-for-all settled. And it never will and it never should.

Fight on, because "... it frustrates the hell out of me to think of how much crap I put up with every day so that some lazyass welfare pukes can sit on the couch drinking a 40 and watching rap videos all day...." too.

Just please don't forget we've always taken serious hits from both ends. Revisit Shay's Rebellion. Remember Tammany Hall. Remember why we needed some anti-trust protection. Ponder carefully on what is meant by a "multi-national corporation."

There will never be an end to card-carrying placard-bearers, except maybe in Nazi Germany, China, or any other place where too-few people have gained too-much upper hand.

We need quality people. Of any kind. Of any stripe and persuasion. Unbridled capitalism is no better than unbridled government. It's not just about who gets what and why, it's about who is doing what, to what, for whom, to whom, and why.

The insurance industry of today is clearly the spawn of capitalism, not government. Don't even get me started on the hidden capitalist side of Sallie Mae. The small-time capitalists like me and probably everybody on this board are dealing with the Hydra from Greek mythology. The beast with a hundred heads. You chop one off and two grow back. "Pure" government is sluggish, self-satisfied, and repressive. "Pure" capitalism is heartless. This is the human condition that we have all inherited and there is no rest for the wicked.

The only respite between the devil and the deep-blue sea is a small enclave, hopefully a growing one, of committed quality people who are willing to keep fighting and willing to entertain the idea that righteousness and health require more than choosing a new hat for the body politic in the next election and insisting on slogans that have a nice ring to them. THAT, and only that will save us.

It saddens me too Tim. I am sure OSHA will shut down the english speaking, non-union workforce and, the government will muscle into my retirement account one way or another.

When you commented years ago about the Wal Martization of roofing you were absolutely right. The illegals got it rolling, The Insurance Industry saw the opportunity, OSHA might be the final nail and $10/ hr wages are what we are headed for.

(Yes the Ins. Industry instead of fighting for the tuth and paying lawyers, simply found it easier to pay illegal immigrants and tax cheats to satisfy claims)

Twill, you may be right. I apologize for being aggressive but this crap bugs the heck out of me.

I have busted my butt for 32 years in the roofing business. I literally gave an arm & a leg to the roofing business in 1994 (see link below). I could have easily retired in 1994, drawn 100% disability on top of having more than enough cash in CDs paying 7% to never work another day in my life.

But I felt like I was too young (34 then) and I wanted to remain productive to society rather han taking from it. I have 324,000 miles on my '07 Powerstroke, and I still put in 12-18 hour days 5-7 days a week. My prosthetic leg hurts most days, some days it hurts a lot. I trudge on because that's what we as Americans do. But that American way of life is winding down it seems, and it frustrates the hell out of me to think of how much crap I put up with every day so that some lazyass welfare pukes can sit on the couch drinking a 40 and watching rap videos all day.

All that said, I refuse to give up on America. Brave men fought & died in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan to preserve this great American way of life. The least I can do is keep trying to contribute in my own little way.

By Wayne Allyn Root

I was Obama’s college classmate at Columbia University, Class of ‘83. Almost every one of my classmates were openly socialist or Marxist, with many of these leftist radicals calling for an end to capitalism and “bringing down the system” by destroying the U.S. economy with entitlements, debt, and crisis.

That’s why I have predicted in thousands of media interviews from the first days of Obama’s Presidency that Obama is a radical, with a deep-seated hatred of business owners, a desire to demonize us and destroy America’s faith in capitalism, and a plan to bring down the system by overwhelming our economy with debt and crisis- just as we all learned and discussed at Columbia in our college days.

Well it’s no longer a theory. Obama has come out of the closet. Obama has decided to come clean with his plans for a 2nd term. In a matter of 48 hours he gave us two hints so big you couldn’t miss his intentions if you were blind, deaf, or dumb (my apologies to liberal Democrats with this disability).

First, Obama gave notice that every state could receive a “waiver” to opt out of demanding that welfare recipients must work to receive their benefits. This isn’t some radical right wing conspiracy Obama is trying to wreck. This was a bipartisan law of the land intended to “end welfare as we know it” and passed under Democrat President Bill Clinton. It has worked mega-successfully (with nary a complaint) for almost two decades. Why would anyone, who isn’t a committed radical Marxist intent on exploding entitlements, debt and crisis, try to end this law? Why indeed.

Obama has showed his true colors. He’s not satisfied with 46 million Americans on food stamps, 11 million on Disability (5.5 million in just his first term), millions more on unemployment benefits, and tens of millions on other government handouts. He wants to make it even easier to get on welfare, without any requirement to work. Going to work might get in the way of your ability to vote on November 6th.

This is precisely how you explode the numbers of Americans on welfare, all dependent on government for survival, and all loyal to the Democratic Party that protects their checks.

Then 24 hours later Obama said words that made me sick to my stomach and brought tears to my eyes. Words so vile they are an affront to every American business owner and a reminder of his true beliefs- a deep seated hate and resentment towards capitalist business owners. Obama said that business owners owe our success to government. He actually said that if you’ve built a business, you don’t get the credit. It’s government who has been by your side. You need to give government the credit.

Obama believes government helped me every step of the way as a businessman? Really? Honest to God? With that kind of thinking, I think it’s now safe to say Obama has come out of the closet. Either he’s a Marxist hell bent on demonizing wealthy business owners and destroying capitalism, or perhaps he’s high on that drug he enjoyed so much in his youthful days.

Because the reality is that government has hurt me, every step of the way. Government has NEVER helped me. But Obama is right about one thing- government is always by our side. Unfortunately it ruins everything it touches.

Here’s a synopsis of what government has done for me.

They’ve stolen my hard-earned money that I could have used to expand my business, or start new ones, or invest in stocks and real estate. Instead it went to government in the form of taxes, fees, licenses and workers comp.

Don’t forget the rules, regulations and mandates that made it difficult or near impossible to start a business in the first place.

Or the accountant and tax lawyer bills that could have been put to use creating jobs.

Or the IRS audits that stole valuable dollars and hours that I can never get back- even though every one of them ended up with me owing not a dime. But the damage was already done to an innocent man.

Or the millions my public company spent on complying with ridiculous bureaucratic boondoggles like Sarbanes Oxley- thereby wasting millions of dollars that could have instead created jobs and shareholder value for my investors.

Don’t forget the bills passed by government that literally wiped out multiple businesses that I owned (multiple times).

Yes, Obama has a point. Government is always there by my side- stealing my money, robbing me blind, redistributing what I earned into the hands of people not willing to work as hard or as smart as me, distracting me with thousands of pages of regulations, limiting my options, wiping out jobs, and destroying shareholder value.

Government isn’t a savior or saint. Government is the mafia. They are organized crime with the weight of the law behind them. And under Obama, they are hell bent on turning public sentiment against all of us who own businesses, destroying America’s belief in capitalism, and redistributing our incomes until our businesses are crippled, or out of business. Then government is our only place to turn. That much is now clear after a 48 hour rampage by our President.

If we are to save this economy, capitalism, our jobs, and this country…one thing is crystal clear- Obama must go.

twill59 Said: What is so wrong about #2? Why die the slow death? Why is the slow death so suddenly preferable to getting it over with? What is so wrong with CREATIVE DESTRUCTION now? Believe me (Ive been saying it for years) What This Country needs is CREATIVE DESTRUCTION. If Mittens win he can put it out there. Or not.

Anyway, What are we going to sort out? Is there just too much money yet for the Robber Barons to leave behind? Do they need more time to empty out the vault?

I really dont get it Tim, youre a smart guy. Where in the world do you get that far out idea that something might change?

A slow death gives options for a cure. I would love to see Rand Paul as president someday, but I'd like for the wheels to not come off before that becomes possible.

If Romney wins, the destruction of our country slows and then we have a chance to make it to 2016 or 2020 where enough people start to learn whats going on and a Rand Paul can be elected.

It may be grasping at straws but it's something.

I have fully prepared my family for bad times. We're ready. And I agree that it may have to get really bad in order for a cure to be found. But I also realize that this country may never recover from the damage Obama does. If he manages to get reelected - in part by making it ok for illegals to vote as an example - it tips the balance in a way that the entitlement class out-numbers the rest of us and thus it may never again be possible to have any politician elected for reasons other than continuing the handouts. Once that happens it may be impossible to reverse it.

It's kinda like driving your pickup out in the boonies and your engine begins to overheat because your radiator is leaking. Stopping and adding some bottled water to the radiator doesn't fix the radiator, but it may allow you to limp to the next town. My approach is to add bottled water to the radiator...via Romney.

Twill, you make absolutely zero sense. None. Explain to your kids that you stole their future because you were busy mounting your high horse.

This isn't complicated. The choices are: 1. Romney continues us down the path of doom at roughly the usual pace. 2. Obama kicks in the afterburners toward total destruction of our country. 3. A vote for a 3rd party gives us #2 also.

Romney gives us time to sort things out, no other option can. Period. You can keep telling yourself that a 3rd party is noble, but simple math says it is dumb.

Same Old Crapola Tim. All those years of the sheep crying wolf has taken the work out of my voting performance. No more thinking, no more research, no more TV. No more radio.

Quite simple now: 3rd party

I know we need to vote in the Republicans to save us from HUGE government, HIGHER taxes, and MORE Red Tape. And now of course to protect our freedoms.

Except of course they never do, never have.... and never will. But it is IMPERATIVE that we believe those useless Whores ......NOW! THIS TIME! OK Lucy, 'cept I am not Charlie Brown anymore

Best thing about having no TV? It is an election year and 2 people who will continue destroying America are running for President and I don't have to listen to it.
