CIAK.....What kind of damage do you guys adjust in an ice storm? Trees on houses and fences, busted pipes?

BTW....You ever worked with/for GAB Robins? I have been thinking about going to work for them as an adjuster. My sister works for them, but she works in court room settlements.....involving death. She is a lawyer type adjuster, lol.

What is your advice to someone with 15 years construction experience that is looking to enter the adjuster field? I have no experience as an adjuster, but I have worked with 100's of adjusters and know what it costs to do the job.

I am planning on getting my license out of Texas, should I get my license before trying to get a job, or wait for the job and let them pay for me an adjusters license, if needed? In my state an adjuster does not have to be licensed.

Thanks! Randy>>>

Randy I can only speak for the company I work with. First a 4 year college degree is needed. A full security check background . A valid local state adjuster licence A clean driving record Then experience with construction and very customer friendly customer relation very very important. What is being covered are any loses due to direct relation to physical damage to the residents. This event up to this point is different than others I've worked. Because there wasn't a Mandatory Evacs some basics are being covered with a deduct>>>

Robby the Roofer

When I started out in roofing, I was hired as a laborer....The 1st day of. work, I showed up with all handtools and pouch. That day I began training as a roofer while the other laborers were forced to pack "hot" buckets. Point is....if you are going to transfer to a new field, have all of your "tools of the trade" ready for the 1st day. If the licence is not required, get it anyways...makes you more marketable and leads to a more impressionalbe reputation. Bigs words... did I just say that correctly?>>>
