Here's the real genius of the Internet:

As a ROOFER I am regularly doing roof searches and going to roof sites.

So now when I go to a site like a newspaper, I am deluged with ads to replace my roof and hire a roofer.

For this, Google is worth $900 a share?

What a genius at targeted advertising easnor is. I bet all across the country RCSers are saying "I really could use this reroof lead I just got, but I'm not #1 in vinyl siding in Rhode Island, so I'm sending the lead to Northeast Home and Energy."

If you have a manufacturer close enough that it's worth going to, get a quote from your regular suppliers for a P.O. pickup at the manufacturer. Have them bid against each other for something they will only be doing the paperwork for. Be forewarned they will usually have minimum quantity restrictions. Malarkey, for instance requires a minimum of 10,000 lbs for the order. It might not be a problem if you're getting felt or shingles, but that's a whole lot of ridge vents and boot flashings.

When you go to regular suppliers and they bring out say a pallet of coil nails, look for any markings or tags indicating where they got theirs from, if it's not the manufacturer. Approach them to try and buy direct.
