Building Inspection Question

We are required to get a preliminary inspection, framing, and final. We got the preliminary, and we got "a" framing inspection after we'd torn off around 60 SQRS to the deck. Inspector then approved us to continue but said he would come back by and inspect again. He never did, although another inspector showed up for a plumbing inspection on the roof for a raised gas line. Everything was cool with him. We were not asked to call for an additional inspection.

Now I try to order the final and they say we can't because we didn't get a framing inspection. I think it's simply a communication issue and that the inspector will say he did the framing inspection, but if it's the inspector who doesn't like us and wants to be hard to get along with, what can they do if he says we skipped the framing inspection and finished the job? Is there a penalty, a fine?

I don't anticipate an issue but we have been told by multiple sources that the 1 inspector is friends with a local roofer and they want to run us off.

Wow that Texas is something else or their after you lol Back in my working days if we didn' follow the local and state building codes we would never get a final unless we paid an engineer to certify that we completed the work per the required codes, however unless we were licensed in the sector of work performed it turned out to be a big deal, Florida has some wicked laws when it comes to construction, in some cities you can not do things that you are not licensed in, if you hold a GC license it wll not allow you to put any built up or flat work on a roof deck, yu can shingle or shake your own structure (max 3 per year) otherwise you have to employ a roofing contractor, same for roofing you need a GC to do framing or decking. We do have a Board of appeals that you can bring your problems to and usually they are pretty fair. We were forunate our license was grandfathered in so we could do almost ype of construction without any hassle When we worked in Texas back in 2008 we were in for some of the stupidest rules but we survived long enough to call it quits lol
