I know I'm doing a segway here but 1 1/2 years go I was taking the max of iboprophen for arthristis, I no longer take anything. A friend said it was because you were under stress (boyfriend), the stress is gone and the pain is gone. Go figure. I had written myself off, planning my funeral. I need a vacation instead. PC

I fortunately don't have pain. The problem I do have is tinnitus "ringing in the ear." This I am certain is TMS. It gets louder and goes away depending on many situations. I will conquer this. Fascinating stuff. When you realize it's not organic it pizz's you off at first. As you journal your experience you become relieved you can conquer it. Very cool. Egg, I have to say that I have done a dis-service to the concept by trying to sum it up in 500 words or less.

Dr Sarno doesn't claim to cure all chronic back problems with his approach. And he's not dragging out super mental powers to cure people.

Either you guys live in California or California-style thinking has spread. Hands-on healing works wonders also, but I don't really think any of us are so advanced in our mental powers that we can do much more than add these approaches to other kinds of healing and conditioning. Not knocking it at all mind you.

Howard Stern talked about getting cured by Sarno about 10 years ago. I've also known one other person that stated that they were cured using Sarno's approach.

The basic premise is that there isn't a reason for the pain and we just keep accepting it. By vocally rejecting the pain and just moving through the range of motion that we seek, it will go away. In essence, we deny the pain a share in our conscience being and wipe it from our sub-conscience.

I haven't read the book. I'm only relaying this info from the fella that says he was cured.
