I have 4 a litter left behind by a stray cat exactly 1 year after the last of my first litter died. One full year cat free. Wonderful indeed. BUT I now have these 4 cats 2 F 2 M I enjoy them because I don't have a litter box to clean. They were outside cats for 1 1/2 years, we had a really tough winter this one year and I allowed the cats to come in. They are all 9 1/2 years old. We are aging together. My first litter from the mid 80's was 8, the funny thing was all my neighbors thought I only had 2 cats. 4 were black & 4 were striped. As I type my big bad boy is sitting next to me purring. The Calico is paising. Brownie the Orange one is hiding. My favorite bad boy is outside, my macho man. He is the ALPHA, this only came about around 2 years ago. The males had a showdown. Blackie Inkspot my main man WON and is still holding his own.
Anyway My main complaint is that these are greedy little bugers. All 4 can live off their body fat for weeks, if I miss a meal they let me know it. It won't happen but at times I want to starve them.
Mike you are so right. I grew up with dogs. I now have cats. Cats do own US. But I love the freedom cats give you. They are not needy as dogs. Everyone wants me to have a dog for proctection because I live alone, I personally find it funny, if everyone knew how many weapons I have around the house, noone will come near me. I feel sorry for the one that tries. You will read about me in the paper.
sorry to hear about the past babies, because that is what they are. My brood happened in 84 with my free cat that cost 1,000$$ before it was said and done. All buried in my back yard. I'll probably get a dog when my current babies expire. My brother & wife were just in from Philly and were so impressed by the friendliness of my cats, I should have sent them home with them, silly me. PC
