---I local larger contractor went up for auction last week. I was told they did a large job and didn't get paid killing their cash flow. One of their creditors forced them into bankruptcy. Lesson there is to be real careful with larger jobs where in this tight economy an entire project might go under taking all the sub-contractors with it. ---They had a yard with all kinds of roofing supplies. I bought the entire flashing rack with V-metal, chimney, roof-to-wall, facia, etc for a few hundred bucks. I calculate it was worth over $2,000. I got their ridge vent, 2 pallets of coil nails, all manner of screws & plates, several pallets of comp (I wanted the hip & ridge bundles), safety gear, stainless screws, and much more. Took 2 days to get it home in 2 large truck loads. ---It is just money in the bank for me as we will use it up over time. With today's costs for all the smaller detail items I figure I save $100-$500 per job not having to buy these things. Lanny>>>

Word has it that he will regroup with some of the keys employees in June or so to start a new company haveing to do with green products. They are looking at taking advantage of Obama's stimulus grant money (for green co.) to help get them started.>>>

---I asked a former employee if the owner would start up again under a different name but was told, no. I actually referred people to this company as they had an excellent reputation and I do not install tile. Lanny>>>

Then we are talking about the same company. Yes they did not get paid for thier gov't project, but at the time of non payment, the company was in the black. Business decisions that were made in buying all new vehicles and avoiding layoffs of office staff while the economy was on its initial downturn brought them to a point where they could not go any further.>>>

If not for the recent storms we might be on that list. We're not out of the woods just yet but major progress is being made. :)>>>

That sounds just like the company that recently closed and shorted every one 3 and 4 weeks of pay. I watched the autioneers day by day preping for the aution, then watched as each item disappeared. They also had many large dumsters and a volvo to go eith it....I wonder which company around here invested that kind of money with the economy the way it is.

Lanny, ar you in washington?>>>
