About two weeks ago the snow was so high that there was no place to push it anymore. I saw people walking down the middle of the roads as there was nowhere else to walk. Yesterday I was driving down the main East - West road going though town and I saw SIDEWALKS appearing in places. I wonder when they built them?
People and the city just gave up trying to shovel them about a month or so ago. Heck, the snow banks were about 2 to 3 feet into the streets, 5 or 6 feet at the corners and the sidewalks were buried beneath about 8 feet of snow and ice.
I still have over a foot of snow on my back deck and about 2 feet on the north side of the house. Grass is starting to appear in the open areas. We had over 3 feet of hard packed snow on the ground all over and 6 to 8 foot drifts. What a winter! Sunday, the low is supposed to be 9 degrees and the high of 28. It hasn't given up yet!
Yeah I was on the road about lunchtime and visibility was poor
Update March 25. It was about 22 degrees this morning and snowing like crazy. Most of it is melting on the roads, but about 2 inches of accumulation. High winds are blowing it around and there are almost white out conditions on the North south roads. I am ready for it to turn to rain.
Just saw Dave last fall Mike
Dang, I was hoping someone found Dave Chenoweth.
I just posted something to that affect on your spring post.
