and another thing......It's become the norm to say "hispanic", in lieu of the appropriate term, "illegal immigrant".

Hispanic's are no more leaving, than white's or black's!.....Illegals are leaving!...... and that's a good thing!

BTW; The feds have not tightened-up on the rules about hiring illegals...it's more rampant than ever.....The only reason the illegals have dissipated somewhat, is due to the slow ecomnomy...They'll be back in more numbers than ever, once the U.S. climbs out of this mess.

They're also continuing to bilk the system, (taxpayers)....All one has to do, is visit the local social service assistance offices.....No whites or blacks there....that reflects the recipients, as well as the gov't employees dishing it out....

I like it!

On another note; What's happened to the traditional migrant/visiting workers?.....I know; They've infiltrated the conventional service workforce, as well as learned to work the social services.....Why pick apples when you can work illegally as a roofer/carpenter/etc... and your wife & kids of a different last name, can collect welfare/health care at the U.S. taxpayers expense, etc...?

---In today's paper there is a big article on prisoners picking apples in Wa state. The state charges $22/hr to the farmer. The state pays the prisoners minimum wage. After all the deductions and other issues the worker makes about $1-2 /hr. ---The article was written in a positive tone. The farmer gets his apples picked. The criminal pays off his debt to society and makes a few bucks. The state about breaks even as they provide guards, transportation, etc. ---The entire program is a response to the lack of illegal workers now that the Feds have tightened the rules about hiring illegals.

Don't think a president has much of anything to do with it....it's much bigger than that....it's our ever-evolving liberal/sheeple society....I guess it's called "progressive" these days....

Same here w/ the salaries. Then they retire, get a pension and get hired again w/ a paycheck.

The schools her teach spanish starting in kindigarten....Some classes are taught the 1st half in English, then the very same material reiterated in spanish the second half....Thereby affording both the American kids and the spawn of the illegals, half the time they ought to be receiving!

They cry about money....Currently there's a couple of ballots circulating that will raise property taxes to give more $ to the schools, so they can teach our kids spanish....

Just reveived the salaries of the local school board, board members, to teachers, to janitors....Suprintendent makes $185K, plus bonuses....had to get through the first page or two before salaries dipped under $100,000.....The little young gal teaching my 6 year old salary's aprx. $65,000!.....Relatively speaking, they're not hurt'n....

There is one Retail SOB contractor 'round here. Jose gives his work away just a little above sub contractor prices. W/ a crew of illegals, I have no idea what his paperwork must look like. No work comp. I do know that for a fact.

I lost a job to them about 5 yrs. ago and went back this summer and fixed the chimney leak and lack of ventilation. The quality was a little bit of a disappointment. Poor nail placement, a few shiners along w/ the other issues, and they left a crummy pipe boot in place. Really about as good as it gets nowadays. Compared to my crew, and my expectations, I'd give them a five. Compared to what I see out there by others: At least an "8". Maybe a 9

What an honest & most clear/concise statement; Kudos to you, JSC!

Whether those in other geographic areas will want to admit or even realize, that pretty-much sums it up nationally.

In my local experience, the mexican labor force is the thievingest bunch I've ever known, whether they are legal or illegal. It's like they think America is one great big Walmart with the doors open and nobody home, and they're entitled to all they can take.... The more that came here the bigger the theft epidemic became. It got so bad that the cops would only send a clerk out within a few days to take a theft report. God help you if you take steps to protect your own property and someone gets hurt or their rights violated though.

However, the citizen tweakers are fewer in number but just as bad, with a far worse work performance and attitude.

Take your pick.

OLE Willie

Hi, Ive been at this roofing thing for 27 years now. Back when i was the one doing the pysical work on the roof i had no need for mexicans. At that time all they would be doing would be taking up a lot of my work. When i became the Roofing Contractor some 15 years ago i dealt with the bubbas. Broke all the time, on drugs and alcohol. Wouldnt work worth a crap. Very unreliable and lazy for the most part. Then the mexicans came along, working like dogs. No complaining. At least not in english. They never needed to borrow money and they were very reliable and fast. So I THOUGHT at this new time in my life that the mexicans were the answer. BUT in the end what the mexicans did was A) take up most of the work from Americans. B) Make it way too easy for every Tom, Dick and Harry to become a so called ' Roofing Contractor " Now days with the poor economy, It is now my opinoin that they are keeping the pricing down and taking our jobs. Send them back to their own home land and IN TIME their will be less unemployment and the prices a good roof contractor can get will go up. Along with the salary a good roofer would be able to get. Its not rocket science. Its supply and demand. Same thing that always determines the outcome. Right now the supply of roofers and labor is extremely high because of the mexicans. And the homeowner demand for roof work is extremely low because of the economy and the increased price of materials. Got rid of the mexicans and eventually this problem will fade away. And yes i live and work in the great state of Alabama!
