Usually because they left something out of the bid, like in this case, they didn`t figure enough roofing, and substituted tarpaper, many mistakes, but that was the most obvious

Of course I was called for repairs when the other "contractor" wouldn`t return the clients calls, and of couse,It cost him more for me to repair it properly than the cost difference was between the original bids,So I guess I really wasn`t more expensive, just charging him to do the job right. People wonder why I ask: Can you afford to pay for this job twice ??
Exactly OS,I`m always very proud of what I put into a job
That is funny. Who would apy the roofer before they went up on the roof and inspected it. I invite my customers up to have a look!
Sweet... the supply house must be thousands of miles away to do that...
roofs about 3 yrs, they ran out of rubberized bitumen, and tarred down 15# felt to finish-really pathetic
Thank you Steve,Hello Kevin. Central Ark: fortunately for the HO,the roofing was split at the crotch, and the water went right thru, rather than sitting and pooling,So he just had to replace his ceiling, and pay about twice what the original difference in cost was from my bid ,and the one he accepted. We know it`s always cheaper to do the job right the 1st time, but unfortunately the customers tend to learn the hard way I think they say:"If it seems to be too good to be true,It generally is "
Hey brother, how much of that ply is rotten? How bout Rafters? I have to say I've seen some pretty messed up roofing but this is one for the books. :woohoo:
