What is this line snapping thing? Kage appears to know how to shingle.
No lines...got more..
Why is there a Kitchenaid mixing bowl at the top of that chase? If I were guaranteeing a leak repair on that area I would be inspecting that top detail as well as the bolts holding it on.
thats what G-Tape is for !!!!
Here is one I roofed by myself last year. 32 squares in 7 1/2 hours, lines every 4 courses. It didn't vary more than a 1/4 inch https://picasaweb.google.com/crookston.john4/OkunAgencyReRoof?authkey=Gv1sRgCPO79Zqh1InJLA#5650156969079164738
Before digital and before I had a good camera, there was a little house I always wondered about. About 35' long. 12/12 pitch. Two 'standard' dormers, about 4-5' from each end. Less than 9' between them, but they managed to need 3 more rows in between them! Last 8-9 courses had such a sag! They lost about 12"-18" right in the center. GO figure. :woohoo:
AHAHAH - Gotta love those, not seeing newer installs like that too often around here any more though.
I love it when guys say they don't pop lines because if the felt is ran straight then they can keep it straight. My reply is usually a sarcastic 'well yea how long does that take ya??'
'Round these parts you aren't considered a real shingler if you snap lines. At least more than one anyway.
Oh well. We snap 'em every 6 courses anyway and shoot for 1/2" tolerance at the ridge. Not hard to do when ya measure. We consider 1/4" perfection.
I guess we are just girlie men
