Hi Twill, Old School,
Sad to say I'm not back roofing although once a roofer always a roofer, lately I found myself designing brackets and methods for installing solar panels, of course this moved on to actually fitting them.
So I'm on a roof with my trusty old "Brades" slate ripper enjoying myself fitting my custom brackets when I realised nobody would really appreciate the detailing except another roofer, so I said to myself "Self you have to make time for the RCS".
I reckon Old School may appreciate this more as you are a slater, I managed to buy 2 "never used" Brades Rippers made in Sheffield back around 1870 (that is when the factory closed).
They are the slimmest most flexible one piece rippers ever made in the UK, so I thought if I own three of these beauties it might qualify me to post in here again :)
Joe Jenkins was very pleased with the details about the slated dome, I'm not sure if he used the photos I sent, if I memory serves you had a hand in that article yourself Old School.
Sad to say I'm in this renewable energy biz a bit too deep to walk away, however I'm still a practicing roofer in my spare time ;)
Thanks for the welcome gents.

Yeah Peter, we missed you. I did see one of your posts about a dome roof in the Slate roofers forum!>>>
