There are 60000 insurance claims right now in Kansas .I doubt if the local roofers can handle all that.

Patty Cakes Said: They bought out a local name so this way people in the neighborhood think they are dealing with a local contractor.

Actually, they would be dealing with a local contractor because when you buy a business, you buy everything including the rights to the location. Fiat bought Chrysler. Is Chrysler now an Italian company?

a company i worked for had contracts to roof a national fitness center chain did that for 2 years from NJ to CA and everywhere in between. i made good money doing that as we worked 7 days a week and from sun up to sundown. that being said i would be gone so long of stints it strained my marrige, missed kids birthdays and the whole 9 yards of all that comes with traveling for work. so i guess money isnt everything. i did work hurricane ike cuz while we were there in atascocita,tx. that storm rolled through, but it wasnt like i chased it. i did however happen to be in the right place at the right time. i already had 2 projects going on there the aforementioned and one in houston. so when i was down in houston id go to the store and people would see the company truck and would flock to me asking to roof their house/busniess. i was there for an extra 4 months and had 3 flat crews and 4 shingle crews and 8 dump trucks and drivers i suddenly had to be in charge of. i went from foreman to superintendent overnight. talk about being thrown into the fire. i learned alot in that time. too bad the owner ended up being a jerk or id still work for him. now i work local and enjoy it, but that experience id gained was invaluable.

Ran into a traveller last month, going into a sandwich shop, noticed hail chaser on the truck. So I was sitting there and asked my friend "who is the hail chaser" turned out I was sitting right next to him. I'm in Carlisle PA , this guy was from Boston, Mass. They bought out a local name so this way people in the neighborhood think they are dealing with a local contractor. NOT. I didn't give him hell but gave him a piece of my mind.PC

We were never storm troopers, however, our customers own properties scattered around and thus we always find ourselves doing their roof after hailstorms when the storm troopers are thick as flies.

Invariably we end up doing other work while there because doing a large shopping center roof on a visible street gives you instant credibility and other property owner approach to do their roof.
