underlayment for 5v metal

What is "5v" metal. Is that the screwed or nailed down pole barn metal? If so, they put it down over wood purlins on 24 inch centers. No underlayment

The only underlayment they use for metal roofs around here is the shingles that were already there. However many layers of them there were. :dry:
