That's 2 problems: low pay and lack of steady work. How about: Waiting on your money. Dealing with the greed factor Dealing with HO's who are no longer interested in a good job, but a "free" (LOL) job

The problem with Insurance work other than the low pay is that the work will always dry up and if you want to continue the game you have to move to the next area of the country where claims are getting paid.
