Sawman I have just come back from a deployment in OK. One of the things the insurance company does is discourage contractors from coming up to the insurance companies and asking questions about the claims , passing out cards to give to insured who have suffered damage. I could write a book about the contractors who have the same line when approaching the insurance company. On the inside it is laughable and predictable how and what the conversation will be . One of the reasons I always try to talk to contractors when they show up, I have a heart for the contractor . The battle ground the line in the sand is drawn . Comments , thought to be original and inflammatory made here by the roofing lemnings ready to throw them selves over the cliff . Comments are made , however without the visceral crude elemental emotional vibrato so prevelant here . It really is to bad. I try to enlighten of the eventual demise and debasement for all involved. If I ever decide not to do the insurance gig and want to become a " Stormier " Watch out , I will rule and be a force to be reckoned with. I completely understand the processes and how it works. Most importantly how not to do it. With the many trusted contacts inside and the growing knowledge I'm acquiring . I am sitting in a very unique position available to a very exceptional few. I still don't know if I could put up with the stress.>>>

I had a few SOB crews calling and stopping by in February. Now when I could use some good help I get no calls. I did get a call from a 21 yr. old that we have put to work. Gets dropped off every day, works hard and talks way too much. We're going to give him a chance to fit in. At least he's not afraid to get dirty. The labor pool keeps shrinking in the roofing trade even in this slow down.>>>

Last summer we had maybe 3-4 kids ( I am guessing 18-20 yr. old ) come in looking for work. Since the end of last month we have had 10 come in and fill out applications and sevral phone calls from people looking for work. Some of the younger guys make their girl friends call for them and ask if we are hiring, to which i reply: If your boy friend don't have the guts to call himself then we don't need him working for us.>>>
