Quite the contray Miscreant . This is just the place for someone who is concerened with ethics and peace of mind. I understand myselve. With all thy getting, get understanding about yourself; I understand the forces that move and shake me. They are very deep forces, not what you might think they are,it's not the intellect, but something deeply buried in my psyche that moves me and controls me.

It would stand to reason that I think that force is me. The alcoholic or the drug addict thinks he or she is doing what he or she wants to do. The same with smokers. How often do you hear, I can stop smoking any time I want to, but I don't want to--it's me." You think of every want you have as coming from your own desire, but any good salesman can make you want something, along with making you think that it's you who wants it. Then, you wake up and wonder "What am I doing with this?" Einstein said that a man can will what he wants, but not what he wills. It would take a person like me to be able to handle this>>>

I don't know about any dark side, but it seems to me that this job would be filled with tension and isolation. You would be working with only disgruntled contractors and frustrated bosses on the claims nobody wants to deal with. This is not a job for someone concerned with ethics or peace in mind.>>>

Yeah man, if you are advancing your career, or bettering yourself, or simply going for a postion that makes you happy... then do it!

As far as Obama and this issue, the buck got passed to him and this is the solution we now have. All's fair, he too will pass a few bucks to his succesor.

We re-elected the incumbents w/ 98% of the vote. What'd you expect..... Change?>>>

Well I take no offence. As far as illegal for those of you who voted for Obama the bill that just pushed itself through , Their are no illegals anymore. The ones who have been deported will be granted amnesty , The ones who were are no longer . Transparency ? This is a very frightening time in a once Great Nation. Reminds me of when this industry was Great and is not so much anymore>>>

Hi Chuck. Somebody is going to do it and get paid for it. Might as well be you. After figuring out the ins. co. pricing, I now think that the bigger problem is fraudulent claims and settlements instead of pricing. You guys are paying for organic roofs that are crapped out prematurely. Steel gutters whose only damage is from age.

The problem seems to be that it is cheaper to settle than it is to fight. Or as I have stated before, it is cheaper to send out thousands of illegal immigrants, their under insured bosses and let the governement pay these claims, than to hire the experts it would take to pursure the truth.

Nothing personal, it is what it is. Tom >>>

It isn't set in stone yet. Heck they may not like my opinions . As it is right now I'll be heading up to Chicago late next week. I'll be working the storms in the NE and Mid West this spring. So if anyone wants to get to say hey let me know . I won't sell my soul to no one . I'll die with a clear conscious and with integrity. The only thing you can take with ya is your Character. I'm a three dimensional person with flaws but I continue to grow Winston Churchill , "Personally, I am always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught." I can relate>>>

The more roofing experience someone in that position has the better for sure but i have to agree with woody as well for sure! That being said, It really doesn't matter at all to me. When i give a price to a homeowner that is my price. If their insurance company won't pay it thats too bad. Either the homeowner will foot the rest or they can get someone else. The insurance companies do not regulate my charges or my scope of work, I DO! Best of Luck in your new endeavor! :)>>>

If you are truly an arbitrator using his roofing experience to judge what's fair, I say good for you. If you get any extra monetary compensation for money that you save the insurance company, then your moving towaeds the dark side.>>>

Well I don't have all the details at the moment . However that being said : I do know that there are many times arbitration required when the insurance company and contractor are at odds as far as pricing and square count + the amount to work that needs to be done the scope. As it stands now for the most part the insurance company will capitulate if the heat is turned up and the screaming starts. Many of the roofers in Minnesota are aware the adjuster will give in because of the customer causing a fuss. I would be hired as an independent and work to find the truth in the estimate. I'm sorry for your situation JSC . It is local in scope with that large of a deductible. It has a Texas coast deductible 5% of policy limits. I don't make the rules. I might be in the position to be sure a fair estimate is available to both sides. It doesn't always work in the insurance company's favor. That side of the equation is not published as much as the other side of the roofing company claiming a bad faith or being ripped off etc. I don't know for sure any of that is real . It is a case by case. B) Oh yeah and by the way I know I can't be wrong becaues I got an Email from Brad after he came to his senses ,

Shrek, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lopez were all having lunch together.

Shrek said, 'I have always thought that I'm the strongest man in the World, but how can I be sure?

Brad Pitt said, 'I'm pretty sure I'm the hottest man alive but I've Never had it confirmed'

Jennifer Lopez agreed. 'I'm told I'm the sexiest of them all, but Sometimes I wonder.'

They all decided that the best way to find out if their beliefs were true was to approach the wicked Queen's mirror to confirm for them whether Shrek was the strongest, Brad Pitt was the hottest and Jennifer Lopez was the sexiest.

They agreed to meet again the next day for lunch to discuss their findings.

The next day Shrek walked up with a smile. 'Well, it 's true. The mirror told me that I am the strongest man in the world.'

Jennifer Lopez followed and boasted, 'It is true, it has been confirmed that I am the sexist woman alive!!'

Brad Pitt walked in, head bent, tears in his eyes and asked,

"Who the hell is this Damn CIAK , " i dunno , i just dunno ?????? ">>>

What's an unfair estimate? The last tract work gl insurance I had cost $143.00 for every $100. of payroll, with a $5000. per home deductible, $143,000. minimum premium.>>>
