Welfare's been around for a long-long time....and that's always been the case....the difference today, is that the problem has grown exponentially via the illegal invasion....they now how to work it baby!

Why be a roofing labor when you can get the same monthly payments from Uncle sugar? Its the government socialist programs that killed our work force." Why be a roofing laborer when you can join the army.Have free room and board while pretending that you're defending your country.

The math bears this out.

The truth of Ins. Industry is the same as it has always been: It is cheaper to pay the fraud than to pay the lawyers to fight it. Just raise the premiums and move on.

Banks, Ins. Cos and the Gooberm$nt are the only industries that are allowed to "raise taxes".

Disturbing you think like this. This is your truth twill? Truths are independent of our beliefs; except for propositions that are actually about our beliefs, what is true or false can be independent of what we think is true or false...... I just "sold" a roof to an adjuster last week. He knows it is bogus. 3rd one this year I know of.

Oh wait I forgot I don't know what the truth is.....

What got us into this mess was the fallacy that a college education= easy/good paying work.

Thats where we are at now, the dummys that should of been next to us roofing went to college, amassed a huge amount of debt while becoming the next Xbox world champion.

The Illegals are here working because theres a job market for them.

Absolutley right on Jason. I agree

Not intending to be condescending...SM; You haven't a clue....By 92' the mess was at full-tilt....In 1977 I tore off roofs for $8/hr on the open market, (private work), & $11/hr on prev wage jobs.

In 2008 what little work I did have I still could not find very many American labors. But, I sure as shit saw a lot more Americans working on roofs and less brown skinned crews.

OK Original question: How'd we get here:

1980's: The greatest American ever, Ronald Reagan gave amnesty to Illegals. 1980s'/ 1990's: Greatest American politcal family ever, the Bush 1, gave favored trading status to a Communist country 1990's: Worst President in History, Clinton pushed NAFTA thru, altho it was negotiated mostly before him. Oh wait now he is the 2nd worst President in US history (after Obama)

Which leads us up to the 2000's: 2008 The WORST President in US History spent the 1st 2 yrs. of his Presidency continuing the policies of the 2nd greatest American ever Dubya. Dubya after all was just extending Reagans' dated and ineffective policies. So Obama by extension, was just doing supply side economics/ trickle down policy

So to answer your orignal question TomB: OBAMA did it! :side:

Also, maybe the most TRUTHFUL and ACCURATE historical quote of all time, came from Nikita Krushechv, when he said the communists will sell us the rope to hang ourselves with.

It appears you are trying to create a consensus. We all have different ideas about why things are the way they are. Truth can be subjective. Because two or more people agree upon a perceived experience of why or how an event is seen or agreed upon doesn't make it true. It is interesting to explore all areas no matter how supposed off subject. B) :) :) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day

BTW; Just because we work in a "resort area" doesn't equal high wages...Quite the opposite, in fact...You pay to live here....We do probably pay more than most. I know, because I get the competitors employees knocking on my door. But we're limited by the "market" of course....Simple/elementary business dynamics.

Somehow, we just can't stick to the actual topic....How is it we have the labor pool today....

I remember 20 & more yrs ago my typical entry-level worker was an 18yr old American, who generally either worked a bit then decided manual labor wasn't for him, or stayed-on as part of a successfull team, many of which have gone on to successfull careers in the constrruction industry as employees and employers.

I attribute the main reasons we can't attract that type of individual today, is due to the low comparitive wages and the predominant illegal, spanish-speaking workforce....

What 18 yr old worth his salt is going to enter a work environment, working for low wages, amongst a herd of contempuous, entitlement-minded illegals?
