John nailed it. No I know longer have a moral issue with it,or the ethics. It is not only a trade of unscrupulous retards, but a whole nation. It is what it is. I got on board w/ everyone else. If everyone sez it is hail damage, then by golly it IS hail damage. Let's get that garage paid for too Mr. Homeowner Sir Dude!!
The Ins. Cos. have saved Certainteed, and others, tens of $ millions, I am sure
Can I do the roof please? B)
Clarify what CIAK? What is it that you don't see in those pics?
John Ok, John if I’m to interpret your analysis. Tom is having a difficult time dealing with his ethical view with insurance claims. His morals kick into high gear when facing suspected fraudulent insurance claims . Is that categorizing the thinking of anyone who will work the claim putting the customer first even if it means lying to them as pragmatic or a thief. Or rules are only helpful guidelines for stupid people? These questions are something pictures can't clarify. I still invite Tom to clarify his statements
looks like an Iko Dual Black, definitely an organic,if it`s only 14 yr.s old,and most definitely not hail damage--the fact that the insurer is paying a faulty claim is what Tom is referring to--telling them it`s not hail damage, and not a legit claim would mean his honesty took the jobs away from him, where if he lied.or went along with it,,he`d thrive,,What a conundrum :(
CIAK, instead of me complaining and trying to tell ya about the lying insurance scams 'round here, I thought I would post 3 pics and that would help explain it.
A picture is worth a 1000 words ya know
With your explanation of wind damage Minn. The replacement is the direct result of an insurance agent not doing their job. Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day inspections are part and parcel of a renewal on H/O insurance. Every one redeemed except the agent a representative of the Insurance Company not doing their job.
I still invite Tom to clarify his statements.

yea not hail damage but wind damage -- i am sure that is what got it covered - doesnt matter the age of the shingle -
Tom To me it is being clear about a subject not necessarily agreeing. Life is not easy for anyone. It is full of bad stuff. I’m amazed, when I take the time to think about life. It’s painful, miserable, and almost unbearable if your wrapped up in feelings. The English language falls short at times to describe this human experience. In Russian what I'm describing is called "Toska" at it less morbid level. I would like you to clarify this statement you made...............
"This is why CIAK and I go back & forth....... I hope this helps him understand that to survive, ya tell the truth. To thrive, ya lie."
Not the obvious"It is NOT legit hail damage 'round here. It is almost always a scam 'round here." B) :) :) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day
GKRFG Said: Looks like CertainTeed Custom 30 organic asphalt shingles- 30Yr?. I have been looking at them for 5 years now and it sure has been good for business. .
Not sure GAK, at a glance, I'd a guessed Globe. He is not the original owner, so he gets nothing from CT anyway.
I just replaced my roof too, last month. They were black Globe's on there, about 12 yrs old, I think. Time flies
Odd... the ridge is hanging in a little better than the field. Usually it's the other way around.
You guys had any problems with glass XT-30's manuf. in Minnesota?
"...to survive, ya tell the truth. To thrive, ya lie..."
There's a little intellectual pivoting in that obviously, but I can second that.
Looks like CertainTeed Custom 30 organic asphalt shingles- 30Yr?. I have been looking at them for 5 years now and it sure has been good for business. If that is the shingle it is part of the ongoing class action suit. We put this shingle on about 100 houses, including my own. I put mine on in 1994. We reroofed it this summer because I wasn't going to get through another winter with them.

ACtually a 14 yr. old piece of crap.
This is why CIAK and I go back & forth. It is NOT legit hail damage 'round here. It is almost always a scam 'round here. I hope this helps him understand that to survive, ya tell the truth. To thrive, ya lie :(
Like copperman said, this shoulda been replaced long ago. But don't feel sorry for the Ins. Co. ....they shoulda had their LAZY azzes out here inspecting the roof BEFORE they insured it.
Whose opinion on roof wear do you trust? Sources of conflicts of interest? If correct analysis of the roof damage is the goal. The homeowner is complicit with the analyst. They are going to stay silent take as much and more. While many roof inspectors and home inspectors are expected to be unbiased neutral professionals. Can we assume that this is always the case? The answer is obvious. The building owner should consider possible sources of conflicting interests on the part of the person performing the inspection. These conflicting interests can occur in both expected and less obvious ways. B) :) :) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day
