Patty I don't really care if you get me or not, What I care about is this once great nation America. The presidency is an honored place with great responsibility. What is in there now has disgraced that honor. We need leadership not namby Bamby mealy mouth dribble. We and our children and their children are in serious trouble. It is way past time to get serious. Wake up!!!! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/42469716#42469716 B) ;) ;) B) Deep Down In Florida Where The Sun Shines Damn Near Every Day

Or you can read it in "liberal" rags like the NY Times, Mother Earth News, Rolling Stone....etc. The truth is out there.

You just won't find it in those "Great" American places like Disneyland, The MSM, ESPN, etc

Jeanne story continued:

Jeanne and her tradesman hubby eventually fell behind and the foreclosure process began. They did everything they could to stay in the house and eventually they met up with an investor friend who offered to buy the house and rent it back to them. The investor wrangled with the realtor and eventually came up with an offer to buy the house on a short sale for 80k cash. This occurred late in the foreclosure process and eventually, the bank agreed to the terms and set the closing date.

Suspiciously, the closing date was the last day of the foreclosure period and the bank was going to take possession if the closing didn't occur. I guess it will come at no surprise to you to find out that on the eve of the closing, the bank sent a letter stating that the deal was off and they would not close the sale. Jeanne and her hard working husband, with kids, had no time to work another deal. The bank took the deed the next day.

Okay...fair is fair....they didn't stay current on their mortgage and foreclosures happen. But....the bank took the property and put it on the market for 65K!!!!!! Furthermore, they won't allow the investor to make an offer for 90 days because "we want "first time home-buyers" to have a chance to buy it first.

Can someone explain why our legislators would allow nonsense like this to continue? These people are trying to preserve their family memories. They have friends in the neighborhood. They are good citizens. They WERE TAXPAYERS, not tax leaches!

So, do you think this is an isolated incident? Think again. Their brother-in-law went through the same process with very similar details.

My son-in-law jumped through all the same hoops for a loan modification. It was a huge waste of time and they also created an impossible burden to overcome. His was more blatant: they sent him a demand to return some papers "or be dropped from the program" too. The only problem: the date that he had to return the papers was already expired by a few weeks. Three months after being "dropped", he got another package threatening to drop him because "we've been attempting to contact you to get additional information, blah, blah, blah". No one every tried to contact him in any way. All of us answer the phones. No calls go unanswered.

This is the government programs that our leaders have legislated for us. Lets face it, it will never get better.

I'd like to think that changing from Dems to Pubs would help but that is just La La Land thinking. We need to clear out the House, Senate and White House and put down to earth, real people in charge....part time.

If Obama and the rest of the Dems were truly working to better the world for the working man, they would stop these predatory programs and return sanity to our governance. Instead, they are all about taking more from the little guys and illegally lining the pockets of their campaign sugar daddies. Corruption had enslaved 95% of the leadership of our land and the 5% who truly care are marginalized by the complicit mainstream media. Our great republic cannot survive without a true fundamental overhaul of our media and then our governance. I am truly afraid for my kids and grandkids. When I look into my crystal ball, I see them living like many of the third world countries that exist in our world today; poverty everywhere and elitists living behind armed guards and tall walls.

If you want to read more about the foreclosure horror, google "loan modification hell" or similar terms.

Our congress and administration have the power to stop this nonsense but instead they chose to "reform" healthcare and stop as much oil production as they can.

This is indeed part of the Obama legacy. He promised transparency and a fundamental change in the way Washington did business but all it was was a good speech. He never meant a word of it.

Anyways, on to the story; I'm going to drag it out a bit, so if you bore easy, just click out now.

Jeane was employed in the mortgage industry, working for a title company. Her husband is a union mason. Both of them lost their earnings in the economic meltdown in Michigan and they struggled to pay their mortgage, even though it was a modest blue collar house in SE Michigan. They did their best and kept up with things. Eventually they applied for a mortgage modification under Obama's "Making Homes Affordable" program (http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov/pages/default.aspx).

If you know anything about this debacle, lets just say it was an Obama sponsored ripoff of the american taxpayer designed to line the pockets of his banker buddies. In theory, it is supposed to help the working class keep their homes. In reality, the entire idea is a sham because the government also instituted a program which pays the banks IN FULL for every house they foreclose. Additionally, the banks GET THE HOUSE! This program was instituted as part of the Tarp program that Obama championed and extended.

So, logic tells us that if the banks can get the entire principle, courtesy of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, courtesy of the american taxpayer, why would they offer a loan modification to a hard working blue collar family? It stands to reason that the bankers would choose, every time, to foreclose, which gives them full payment AND THE HOUSE. They won't accept short sales either...because, why take partial payment when you can get full payment. Even a gradeschool kid could figure that out.

Thank You Liberal East Coast elitists and Obama. Our country needs programs like this....NOT!

Anyways, Jeanne went through the loan modification nonsense which is all about stalling. They incessantly ask for more documentations. They claim it wasn't sent. They need this, they need that, more bs; more stalling; more docs needed; more bs, blah, blah, blah. Then suddenly, after almost a year of wrangling, the bank send some documents that arrive by US Mail and state that the package MUST BE COMPLETED AND RECEIVED IN THEIR OFFICE BY THE END OF THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY. That sounds good eh? The only problem; they don't open their mail till they get home from work and it's impossible to find a carrier that will get it there next day at that late hour.

Coincidence? Read on in the next post.

OS it is horrible that families have been dislodged. Too late for too many. I could have been one of them. I didn't wait until it was too late, I tried to be preventitive and still got screwed. I worked around it. I don't like what I see either. Get ready for the battle lines, it's a comin'.

Ciak I just don't get you. How you can blame this on Obama is beside me. The corruption in government has been going on for decades. Republican Decades. I'm glad the old farts are dying off, retireing and being put out of office for their misbehaviour. Absolute disgrace. Oh that's right your one of the rich bitches that's why you don't understand. Love, PC

IF you went into the court with no paperwork, and no evidence that you owned or had owned anything, do you think that they would let you stay? Do you think they would give you a second or third chance? Do you think they would prosecute you if you showed up with some obviously forged paperwork?

The whole system is one giant fraud, and when you go and roll in it, you are going to get dirty. There are billions of reasons that the judges and lawyers are cheating us, and they are getting away with it. A stacked deck for sure.

Patty - yep, Rolling Stone. I don't enjoy it normally, but my Dad gets it for free for some reason. I think he agreed to it on the phone after his quadruple bypass a couple of years ago. The amount of pills required after that made him 0easy to get along with hah.

Roof Dawg: Rolling Stone seems to be one of the few that are calling these bastards out. The NY Times is somewhat on the case too. The Tea Party and the rest of the liberal/ conservative mass media are just worthless. Good for flower show announcements and highway paving news is about it.

I didn't see it as I don't have cable/sat. I did read a great article in Rolling Stone(believe it) about 4 months ago about this same issue. It's main focus was a court in FL that specializes in settling these mortgage claims quickly, deemed "the rocket docket." One judge said that he tries to process something like 20 claims an HOUR! The lawyer who brought the columnist in was threatened by the judge 'how dare you bring the press in here, I should hold you in contempt' Most of the judges are retired, so they basically DGAF.

They cited multiple examples from that day of the banks stating claims but no paperwork to back it so the court reschedules to a later date so they can work up a phony document. It's sickening.
